Hi,

Having not had too much to do with networking on a large scale before, I have taken resposibility for a factory with a few hubs with netgear and cisco switches in, all routed from a main server room by fibre.

One of the hubs seems to have trouble either dishing out IP addresses or even connecting when using statics too and i'm sure why.

Does anyone have somewhere for me to start?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

LC

hubs and switches don't act as dhcp servers so they would not be responsible for giving out ip addresses.

What you describe sounds like a failing hub/switch. Usual course of action is to replace it.
