Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire 5536 and it shows a good wireless and Ethernet connection (it shows that it is connected to my Network) but it will not access the internet. I tried to load new drivers onto an external had drive then to the Aspire, but it says that the existing drivers are fine. Any ides what I could do? I'm assuming if the Network card was bad, the system would tell me that. The system says that the Network card is "Functioning Properly." This is baffling to me. I originally was trying to remove adware (Adware Generic5.CDUL) and I cannot load a new AVG version without internet connection. I also tried to upgrade to Windows 7 but it failed due to the lack of internet connection... The Wireless card is "Atheros AR5B91" and the Ethernet is "Broadcom NetLink."

My System

First step, power everything off (ie: PC, router, modem, etc.).

Power the modem on and let it sync.

After it syncs, power on the router.

Then power on the devices and test.

Minitool box isn't part of the link I referred you to.

You appear connected to the router via wifi. The xirrus screen shot and a tracert yahoo.com results would be nice to see.

Thanks for the response. JimE, I've powered off everything numerous times and it always shows that it's connected to the Network and that the Wireless and Ethernet hardware show to be "Operating Properly."
Also, Wand3r3r, what do you mean by "The xirrus screen shot and a tracert yahoo.com results would be nice to see."
