For the past 2 days I have been having the weirdest problem with my internet. It's stuck identifying the connection whether it's wireless or LAN connection. I upgraded to Windows 10 about a month ago and it's been working just fine. Every other device in my apartment is working fine but I reset the router just in case. Booted and rebooted my computer about a hundred times. I usually get the full list of wifi names in my neighborhood and can successfully connect to my own for sometimes up to 2 minutes before the depressing red x. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter and drivers and made sure that they're set to obtain IP automatically. Took down my firewall and ran a full virus scan with Avast. Sometimes I get Internet access for a few seconds or minutes after the red x appears and sometimes it's just done.
Curiously at the same time this started my audio playback device started randomly failing. When I troubleshoot it says one or more device wasn't running and fixes it for a few minutes before it fails again. I don't know if it's related but these two things have never happened before and then started happening at the same time.

you appear to have DHCP set to no
change that to yes by setting to automatic

How do I do that? I googled this and it said to go into properties of the wireless adapter and change internet protocol versions 4 and 6 to obtain automatically which I have already done.

I didn't see that before. So I followed the link and found that when I go to the network settings I don't get the local area connection link because I can't register any connections. I found the same screen by going to change adapter options and clicking on properties.

Ok, so you have changed ?
if so can we see another ipconfig /all
now DHCP should be YES

if not try a TCP/IP reset

So it seemed to change without the reset, though I don't know why. I didn't actually have to change the options.

would you do the reset please

Check the wireless is switched ON
theres often a physical switch or a combination of the FN and one of the F keys to toggle the wireless on/off
often F2 is used - but note , not always - look for a symbol that looks a little like (( i ))

is the wireless on?
