My browsing is interrupted very frequently. My internet stops working even when i am connected to WIFI. I run this (netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt ipconfig /flushdns) and reboot and i am back. But again after 2-3 mins of browsing internet hangs.I then reboot and it works and then again hangs Please help out on the issue.

My WIFI adapter is Realtek RTL8191SE 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter Hp Compaq 420 running windows XP64. Driver latest dated 12/7/2010 ver 1093.1.1207.2010.

Hi Tech Team,
Thank you for th update.
I am not particularly able to browse in network with Network Authentication= WPA-PSK
Data Encryption = TKIP. I am able to logon but browsing does not happen. When i look at my connection Properties I do not have Microsoft TCP/IP ver 4 (i have 6 instead). I do have normal TCP/IP though. Is this the reason i am not able to browse. How do i get TCP/IP ver 4. Please help

Hi Network Team,
I did a ipconfig/all and found that the node type Node Type changes from BROADCAST to HYBRID or UNKNOWN after browsing for some time.
when I did the below commands(netsh &ipconfig) and reboot the system changes to Node type HYBRID after rebooting it changes to BROADCAST(it is then i am able to browse). But immmediately the Mode changes automatically to UNKNOWN and i am not able to browse.
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
ipconfig /flushdns

I even entered this HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NetBT\Parameters EnableProxy"=dword:00000001 and NodeType=1 but to avail

1. WHEN BROWSING IS NOT WORKING BELOW IS THE SETTINGS IN IPCONFIG/ALL
Windows IP Configuration
Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : home-bsv8zb8b09
Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . :
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Unknown
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : Yes
WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : Yes
DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . : Belkin

2 . I DO A (netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt ipconfig /flushdns) THEN BELOW SETTING

Windows IP Configuration
Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : home-bsv8zb8b09
Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . :
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : Yes
WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . : Belkin

3. WHEN I REBOOT AFTER THE ABOVE THE BROWSING WORKS THE SETTINGS ARE (which unfortunately chages to UNKNOWN after a few mins of browsing)

Windows IP Configuration
Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : home-bsv8zb8b09
Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . :
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Broadcast
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : Yes
WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : Yes
DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . : Belkin

Please advise how to keep Node type in Broad cast mode always.

Thanks
Ashok

How about resetting the Winsock netsh winsock reset catalog.

Also are you running any third party Internet Security software, if so disable then try to connect.

Hi Tech Team,
Thanks for the update. One thing i noticed that i am able to browse on my laptop on another WIFI connection which has Network Authentication= shared / Data Encryption = WEP even though Node Type is showing UNKNOWN.

But the same laptop is having a problem with a WIFI connection with Network Authentication= WPA-PSK / Data Encryption = TKIP as mentioned in my above mail. Any ideas.

Thanks Ashok

I ran ipconfig/all and got the below result. Is it possible that the other adapters running(toredo tunelling) are causing any conflict which is causing my internet browsing to hang.

Any reason why ip routing and wins proxy are enabled? Both should be no.
I have never see the tunnel adapters cause problems.

You either have some serious registry corruption or someone is remotely controlling your pc which is why you see the node type change dynamically.

Run chkdsk /f on the disk to make sure its OK
Go to a system restore point before this started happening.
