So I keep having this problem, sometimes it's better, sometimes really bad.

When I have my router (Linksys Wireless G) with DD-WRT connected with a cable, I have good speeds of 45 Mbps. However, when I am connected only wireless, it drops to around 5, which makes browsing, loading videos etc. quite challenging.

I checked the channels, as there's plenty of other wifi networks around.. but that should be ok, as I'm currently on the least-used channel.

Anything else that is affecting and limiting the speed so much ?

It has been a few years since I used DD-WRT, This link to their Wiki may help; Wireless Packet Info - RX/TX Errors - DD-WRT Wiki

Most likely you are getting some interference.
