I "cut the cord" by replacing my land line with Verizon's Wireless Home Phone. Everything's great. BUT, that Verizon line is like a cell phone connection and does not accept the output of the PC modem I used in Outlook 2010 to auto-dial through my phone land line. I routinely auto-dialed via Outlook after first getting dial tone on my nearby wireless phone which is connected to another jack in the house. It always worked well for me. Apparently that Verizon line is a connection where only "analog" devices will work. It's the same problem for FAX which I can't do now, but never had a need to use it anyway.

Question: Is there any way to make or buy an adapter, USB to RJ11 (or whatever you call the wall phone jack) where Outlook 2010 can auto-dial DTMF tones to my wall jack which now connects to the new Verizon line? Perhaps the voltages, etc. are not compatible. But it seems to me so simple to do.

I just have a memory problem that makes it difficult for me to remember a 10-digit string long enough to manually dial the Outlook contact phone number on the phone I have. I was so used to the great Outlook auto-dial feature. Progress. Sigh.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Sounds more like analog services are not working.

In fact is says:
Not compatible with fax machines, DVR services, credit card machines, medical alert services or some High Speed or DSL Internet services.
Doesn't matter the pin outs/cable. You don't have the analog or digital service [no fax / no dsl]

Thanks. I give. I did find a script that will turn the digits of a phone number into DTMF tones. If I have dial tone on my phone and play the tones for that number, it will cause the telephone system to call that number. But it doesn't allow me to do it directly from just highlighting those digits and doing something simple like hitting "return" to initiate the tones in front of my phone with dial tone on. It's several steps and takes longer than manual dialing. Sigh. I guess I'll have to go manual again. That's present day technical progress.

My System

You mean technical progress but still trying to use antiquated technology (ie: fax). The technology is available to eliminate fax entirely.
