I have a TV which is in another room and not suitable for direct cabling. I want to be able to receive a stream on my desktop and "transmit" it to my TV.

What is the best option?

Hi SABL.

Not sure what info you're looking for. It's not a smart TV.

It's a Philips 42pfp5332_10

Hi T

Just trying to get some specs for people that may be of assistance. The model number will be a great help. I've never tried to stream anything from my PC to the TV.....never looked into it. I use Roku for the TV.....and have to pay for a subscription.

I lost touch long ago.....the days of cable and VHS recorders. Hang tight....someone will have an answer.

Doesn't appear to have a USB port, so your best bet would be a standalone box like the Roku. It can handle all of the normal streaming channels (ie: Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.) or you can use Plex to playback files from your PC.

But it largely depends on what exactly you are trying to stream.

Thanks JimE

I want to push live football game streams to the TV.

There is a HDMI connection. Is there something that I can connect at either end that will transmit wirelessly?

Can't do it wirelessly since its not supported on the tv.

Traditional hookup is a vga cord from video card to tv vga input and cable connect from sound card to tv input
