I have a TP-Link modem which I have had for many years and has been fine until just a few weeks ago. I have a desktop PC plugged into it through a cable and we have two laptops and two phones (android) that connect to it through wifi.

Suddenly the wifi has stopped working properly for all devices. It was working fine for years and we didn't change any settings or install new drivers or anything. I did notice the problem seemed to start after I turned the modem off and on again. I've tried doing so again and it hasn't fixed the problem.

The specific issue is that the connection doesn't stay stable for more than a couple of seconds. Sometimes I can load half a page, then suddenly it drops out.

On my laptop it will show full strength connection one moment and then suddenly none, or there will be a little exclamation mark in the task bar that says no connection available. It cycles through these different states randomly every 10-20 seconds or so.

Hi there,

Try performing a reset on the router and see if that helps get things working. It's also possible that the wireless modem/router is dying and it may be time to replace the device.

It works fine with an Ethernet cable.
I'll try the reset.
