strange connection issue - possibly modem related?

problem:
For a long while I had a d-link router connected to my modem and used a d-link wireless adapter card to connect to it. then we upgraded our plan which (unfortunately) required to trade in our modem for a modem/router hybrid. it included a USB key to set everything up.

which i used. and everything set up. connected fine. etc

for the past few months my connection will randomly stop. the bars will show a yellow ! symbol. disconnecting/reconnecting or r-click>troubleshoot usually reconnects it, sometimes it takes more than one try. but lately the connection will drop entirely, and my pc can't find any connection at all! and sometimes a symbol (cable with monitor and a red x) will appear instead. the only thing that works, is restoring my computer to an earlier point. even if its a few hours before, the connection comes back.

see, it never really bothered me much because it was easily fixable. but now it seems to be getting worse, and a system checkpoint restore is not something i want to be doing regularly!

I'm thinking there might be some sort of conflicts somewhere that's causing this issue? since it occurred when i installed the new modem/router thing. this is only happening on my computer. a laptop/iphone/other laptop all connect just fine.

I've already tried a new network adapter card - still same issue
I've reinstalled drivers - still same issue
Earlier today I went into the d-link connections list and got rid of the old connections listed, keeping just the new one. as well as in "manage wireless networks" (because the old one was still listed)

Things seem stable for NOW, but i've had fine connection for long stretches before. so while i've got it, i want to make sure there's nothing i've overlooked or what else it could be!

(SORRY FOR TYPING A NOVEL! I just want to make sure I cover all the bases so no one has to waste their time considering things I covered)

ANY HELP YOU CAN OFFER IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Here's the info:

OS: Windows 7
wireless card: D-Link
modem/router: honestly not sure! I can check if need be

luchalibre is my connection, its the one using 1 and 5

it cut out again. i noticed that the old d-link connection was in the wireless networks again even though i deleted it. im thinking that for whatever reason, it comes back and causes conflict with my new network connection. is there any way to permanently delete that old connection?

sorry, the other two are also mine, but im only connected to LuchaLibre - this is where I think the problem is :/ the "non-broadcast" one is the same BSSID and everything, and the other one is the guest connection

I deleted the D-Link one so its currently not showing up in the wireless networks (which is why I think things are running so smoothly haha) But if it shows up again I will post a screenshot!

thank you for helping so far, by the way :)

wireless channel contention is where you have two wifi routers using the same channels as each other which can cause issues since each is using the same.

you logon to your router, go to the wifi section and locate where channel selection is located and change the channels as recommended.
