Hi all,

My first problem is that though my internet connection works fine, the DSL light on my modem /router stays off most of the time.

The second problem is that my daughter's Iphone and her Blackberry phone have recently become unable to detect the a signal from my router and she cannot connect to my internet.

The router is connected to the PC by LAN cable. Here are my details:

The LED working (or not working) isn't really an issue if your connection is up and working properly. Most likely a faulty LED.

The phone/blackberry would connect to the wifi, so your connection via ethernet is irrelevant (aside from the fact that it proves the internet connection is good).

Is the phone seeing the wireless network? If it sees the network, what error are you getting when you try to connect?

If it's not seeing the network, try powering the router off and back on. It could be hung and a reset will get it restarted. Otherwise, most likely the router (wifi) is faulty, in which case you would need to replace the router.

Thanks JimE, Before trying a reset as you suggested, my daughter, for the first time in a fortnight, advised me that her phones had detected my signal and she was able to browse the internet using my connection. I can only assume that techsupportforum or you, yourself, have some magical influence over these matters.

It remains to be seen if there will be any further problems but she is happy for now.
