Hi,

I would start with using a good firewall. That will cover most of your issues. You can limit all the ports that you want from there. After that, I would make sure that you have a good htaccess file. I would look at this page and this page, for help with it. The next question is what OS you are running? You can do different things depending on what OS you have.

*keep updating apache regularly
*disable unnecessary modules
*use mod-security and mod-evasive modules to secure apache
*Disable Apache’s following of Symbolic Links
*Limit Request Size
*Product DDOS attacks and Hardening
*Securing Apache with SSL Certificates
*Enable apache logging
