Hi Guys
recently i have migrated around 6 Virtual machines (Red hat 6.1) on hyper-v 2008R2 to Hyper-v 2012R2 servers
After that made sure that integrations tools were upgraded
Rebooted the machines
all machines are picking up the dynamic ips which they should
Before upgrade we were able to create an SSH connection using hostnames of the VMs without an issue but after this upgrade i am unable to use host name
Error Message from command prompts below
(((Ping request could not find host qa-hyperv-ws79. Please check the name and try again.)))

everything looks fine on the virtual machines as far as I can tell
i have a very limited knowledge of linux so i was wondering if any of you have an idea of how to resolve this issue

thanks

little update
found out that there was some network cleaning i had to do
Once that was done I created a new network adapter and configured it properly
Now in DHCP server under lease i am not seeing the host name registering with the IP

found the solution
basically after cleaning up the network adapters
Created a new adapter
configured the DHCP_Client_ID to correct name but even after that host name was still unresolvable
so manually added the host name
cd /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
found the eth0 there (my current network adapter)
nano ifcfg-Auto-eth0
added the DHCP_HOSTNAME=name of the machine.domain.local
Saved
exit and restarted the machine
while the machine was restarting
removed the old entries from the DHCP and A record from the DNS
Machine rebooted DHCP resolved the hostname with ip and samething on the DNS
:)
