I recently signed up to LoveFilm to watch movies online but to be able to watch the films I have to enable Silverlight. However I try to install Silverlight through Microsoft's website and it asks whether I want to run or save so I click on run it 'downloads' then nothing else happens and I am still unable to watch anything online. I would like to know if there is anything I can do because I am losing patience with Microsoft. It does say it's compatible with windows 8 so I don't see where the problem is.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My System

Hi, welcome to TSF

If it's giving you 2 options, to run or save, and you've already tried running, have you tried saving?

See here for details: LOVEFiLM: Help - Silverlight FAQ's
How do I install Silverlight?

You should be prompted with a link to the latest version of Silverlight when you try to stream a LOVEFiLM Instant title (if Silverlight isn't already enabled on your system). You can also click here to install the latest version of Silverlight directly from Microsoft.

And click here to see a list of Internet browsers compatible with Microsoft Silverlight.

Please Note: Before changing any Silverlight settings, you are advised to ensure your operating system is fully up to date by running the Windows Update, or Software Upgrade if on a Mac. Streaming on the LOVEFiLM website is not guaranteed to work without doing so.

How do I check if Silverlight is enabled?

If you are using Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari or Opera browsers, please scroll below and follow the relevant instructions.
If you use a browser other than those listed above, please refer to the help section in your particular browser. This will tell you how to check that 'add-ons' or 'Plug-ins', such as Silverlight, are enabled.
