Hi,
I have just installed Firefox 3 and started using it.
I have found I cannot view videos online, ie youtube.

I have Flash player 9 installed and videos play fine through Internet Explorer but when try to view with Firefox, says may not have latest version installed or Javascript not enabled, I am sure I have this set in Firefox.

Using Windows Vista.

Any suggestions please it would be great.
Thanks

Hey, sometimes this is down to slow page loading (e.g. the page hasn't fully loaded/wont fully load)... Check that the status bar in FF says "Done"... If it does then check your javascript options:

- Click Tools->Options
- Click the Content Tab
- Ensure "Enable Javascript" is checked
- "Enable Java" does not need to be checked

If it isn't then check it and press OK.

If it is then check your add-ons:
- Click Tools->Add-Ons
- Ensure you don't have "No Script" or an alternative JS blocker installed
- If you do then disable it

If you have the "Web Developer" add-on installed:
- Click Tools->Web Developer->Disable->Disable Javascript
- Ensure "All Javascript" is not checked.

If none of these works then post back with more info on what add-ons you have installed.

Cheers,
Jamey

Hi Jamey,
Cheers for getting back.

This is the message I continue to get.

Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.

I have Javascript enabled and Java disabled.

I do not have Web Developer Add on

The adds on I have are below

Adobe acrobat
Itunes Application dectector
Java(tm) Platform se us
MetaStream 3 plugin
Mozilla Default
Quicktime
Realjukebox
Realplayer
Realplayer(tm) g2 liveconnect-Enabled Plug-in

All are enabled.

Cheers again.

hmm okay, in the add-ons->plugins section do you have "Shockwave Flash" listed?

if not then that will be the problem.
You may need to install the firefox swf plugin... Anyway, to check that try viewing a page with an embedded flash file, such as https://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/launchpad/launchball/ if firefox pops up with a "install missing plugins" thing rather than showing the flash file then the problem is solved (when you click install).
The problem with Youtube etc is that they dynamically embed the player if everything's ok... so firefox doesn't notice that you're missing plugins...

If that doesn't pop up and you see the flash game then i'm almost stumped.

Cheers,
Jamey
