You know how your laptop turns the screen off when you close it to about 10 degrees or so? Well, the screen on my Acer V7 is also turning off at around 70-80 degrees. I open it, it turns on, I open it further, it turns off, I hope it past 80 degrees or so, it turns back on. Also, when the screen is right next to that angle, there are these tiny artifacts that dance around, barely noticeable.

Is this something that I can fix myself?

How old is the system?

Either the monitor itself is going bad or the sleep hinge connector is going bad. Both are not very easy to replace. They both require a full system tear down.

About 10 months. Still under warranty so I guess I'll send it in. Thanks.

Yep best to use warranty sounds like a connection issue or cable.

Replaced Laptop Screen still doesn't work
Hi, I have recently found out that my laptop screen had a crack (you could actually see some blue liquid leaking from the screen). I bought a replacement screen from ebay, but it did not work. This is what I did to test the screen: - Checked that the video connector was properly in. (still...

Laptop Screen Upgrades?
I'm pretty sure that my 5-year-old laptop screen has burnt out. I've checked the function key that switches between laptop display and the display for another monitor, to no avail. I have a working system, when I hold a flashlight to the screen it's simply extremely dim. (I did however just get...
