Ok i was doing a maya render on my laptop and the fans were at max rpm. Suddenly i heard a very loud grinding noise followed by a bang and one of the fans stopped completely. Opening the laptop, i was baffled to see some fan blades were broken from the same fan. Does **** like this really happen?
(Taking about dust, my fans were moderately clean).

Don't know what a "maya render" is but I clean PC's, Main frame computers, TV's with an ESD safe vacuum cleaner when they are powered down. Fan blades breaking off is unheard of. If you tilted the PC up to do something then maybe something on the table passed through the grill and stopped and broke the fan or you were taking a cover off and the screw dropped in the spinning fan. Hopefully you can go to a store like "Savers" where old computers are donated or go to a small computer repair shop and get a fan from a blown power supply or computer they were going to through out.

That won't fit inside a laptop.

maya render
Maya is a 3D graphic design software. In 3-D graphic design, rendering is the process of add shading, color and lamination to a 2-D or 3-D wireframe in order to create life-like images on a screen.
As stated, pulling a fan from a PSU will not fit in a laptop, in fact the stored power ina PSU will probably shock you to death

You did not mention the make and model of your laptop?
You can purchase just about any computer/laptop part from Ebay. Remove the broken fan and copy the exact part # to replace it. Hopefully the broken blade did not damage any interior parts.
