I am trying to help a friend with an issue related to Dell 9400. The graphic card just stopped working and I cant do anything with the computer. His biggest worries is that he need his outlook files and I want to copy the files from his pc.

Since I cant see anything on his computer, because of the GPU issue, I removed the HDD and connected it externally to my pc and tried to find *.pst file. the problem is that his user map is secured so I cant get in to it. I have tried to use ERD commander to remove the security settings but I cant get ERD to pick up the external HDD.

Can anyone help me on getting the *.pst file?. The only outlook *.pst file I could get was the one on default folder and that is no use to him.

Thanking you in advanced

Hi Pjfadeqq,

Right click on the "username" and then choose properties. Then go to Security tab and click Advanced on the bottom right. Then on the Permissions tab, click on the username and then click on "Change Permission". Make sure the "Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent" is also checked.

Hope everything works out well for you.
