Hi,

Soon I will be building a new computer. Am I right in assuming that I have to buy a totally new copy of XP to install on that computer. I already have an XP disk which came with the computer I am using at the moment, a dell. I will not be able to use this?

Also, if I do need to buy a new CD, should I be buying the OEM version?

Thanks very much.

Yes,you will need a new CD.
You can get an OEM CD cheaper, but according to the
license agreement, once you instaall it on a computer,
you can only use it on that computer.
With a retail CD,you are allowed to remove it from one
computer and install it on a different computer if you decide to
do so in the future.
