Hi,

I am getting an in error when installing Windows XP Service Pack 3 from the SP3 installer named 'WindowsXP-KB936929-SP3-x86-ENU'.

The computer has SP2 already on it.

Anyone ever have this issue or know of any possible conflicts that can cause this?

Thanks!

64 bit won't install. 32 bit according to MS https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...ils.aspx?id=24 is no longer available. Please post where your download is coming from.

Here is additional info on the error. I think it may be a Windows activation issue even though it says it is activated:

We got the SP3 installer from one of our vendors. It is an official Microsoft XP SP3 installer.

Type oobe/msoobe /a. Does it say Windows is already activated?

I tried typing oobe /a, msoobe /a, and ppbe/,and msoobe/a, and got 'msoobe is not recognized and internal or external command.

Is there are right syntax to run this command?

I also went to Programs->Accessories->System Tooms->System Information.

System Information did not have an Activation Status field.

This article says if Activation Status does not show up in System Information it means it might already be fully activated: https://operating-systems.wonderhowt...vated-0126108/

I checked System Properties and Registered To field is filled out with a license number.

But it could be a corrupted activation or something. That is what I am trying to get help with to figure out how to install SP3.

What Operating system and Version did System Information say you have?

I just confirmed it already has .Net Framework 3.5 already installed. I will post an update later with the error report.

Attached is the first part of the error reported. It seems you copy and pasting is disabled from the error message into other applications so I cannot copy and past full error transcript. If someone wants me to screenshot a different part of the error message please let me know.
