Evil

I just repaired my computer that was shocked and fried in an electric storm 2 months ago, And now its been 3 days and whenever I start it up it goes to the windows logo and shows it loading but right before it goes into the account select screen it just stops loading! I've tried everything, safe mode, start it last time it worked, start it normally, and I even repaired all my files.

Any ideas?

Well the obvious answer is that the computer is not "repaired".

What fried and what did you do about it ?

Can you get to safe mode ?

Do you have an XP disk to run chkdsk, fixboot & fixmbr ?

Well actually the computer is repaired because a repair guy cam the other day and made sure it worked and added a new motherboard and something else (i forget) and it DID work yesterday and the day before but not today. I used to be able to get into safe mode but now it says please install setup.exe. Now what should I do?

Computers that are not working 3 days after a "repair" are likely not "repaired". How does one "repair all" the "files" ?

A lightening strike that fries a M/B might also fry something else. Again, the system may not have been fully repaired.

If the motherboard was replaced, I'd wonder if the motherboard drivers were reinstalled.

Do you have an XP disk ?
