I have a problem with my roomates computer. whenever he tries to logon, it freezes after he types in 4 letters (and then the screen turns black after about 5 seconds)...and if he types in nothing, it doesn't freeze. if I take off the password, it loads up and freezes immediatly.

Here's what i've done:
1) used recovery console to use the command chkdsk /r, and chkdsk /p.
2) restarted in safe mode and deactivated ALL of the things using the msconfig
3) getting rid of the password alltogether.

Please help...I don't know what else to do.
