Hi I have Windows 7 evaluation on my computer, I would like to reinstall Windows XP, I have a disk with windows XP + sp2 but can not format the hard disk to reinstall XP. The reason for going back to XP it that I have hardware and soft ware which is not compatable with windows 7.

Why can you not format? . . Did you boot from the XP installation CD?

If you got that message, you did not boot from the XP installation cd. Did you see a prompt to "Press any key to boot from CD"?

Go into the Bios and make sure the First Boot device is the CD rom drive. Then boot off of the Windows CD, you should see Press Any Key to Boot From CD. If not, your drive is not set to boot first or the disc is not bootable or your drive is not reading the disc.
