Windows xp just won't start. It comes up with the screen that says windows has been unsuccessful and gives the optiion of starting in various modes. I have tried every one.
I have gone into BIOS and into Boot Device Priority and changed the first one to CD and loaded the winxp cd. However the explanation at the side says that 'A DEVICE ENCLOSED IN PARENTHESIS IS DISABLED' All the devices are in parenthesis.

I still ran the CD and pressed R when prompted for repair. At the end it showed 'C' but it did not let me chose it.

Can anyone help me ?

THANKS
