When i tries to start defragmenter by right clicking on any drive it prompts error as disk defragmenter could not start and gets terminate.
I have 4 partions of 40GB with 50% free space left on each drive.
All other utilities works properly.
Is it due to corruption of files?
Please help me to solve this problem

Ensure all the necessary Services are set up correctly;

Click start, run, type services.msc then click OK or hit enter.

Verify these settings;

Logical disk manager is set to automatic.
Logical disk manager administrative service is set to either manual or automatic.
DCOM Server Process Launcher service is running.

If all those are OK, and since you have adequate disk space and everything else seems to function well, you could do a System Restore.

If Defrag then works, do a thorough virus scan.
