I tried to search for this issue, as I'm sure there must be a thread on this, but the search gave me an error message.

Hopefully you can help me.

Upon boot up my desktop is covered with a blue screen with a yellow box in the center with the message:

"Warning! Spyware detected on your computer!"
"Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer!"

There is no task bar and no way to access anything, although the mouse does work. (Once I was able to access Windows Explorer, but I don't know what I did to do this and I can't replicate it).

After a minute or two I get a STOP: 0x0000008E (0x0000005, 0x805BE61F, 0xEDA8F97C,, 0x00000000)

From there I can only reboot and go through the entire process again.

I can boot into Safe Mode but can access nothing there, the screen is just black with "Safe Mode," etc., etc. at the top and bottom of my screen.

What to do, what to do?

Help!

Thank you :-)

Hi CMD130, Welcome to TSF!

You have been infected with malware.

Please read this article… "Having problems with spyware and pop-ups? - First Steps"; follow the instructions very carefully; then, post all the requested logs and information; as instructed, in the HiJackThis Log Help Forum.
(Simply, click on the coloured links to be re-directed.)

Please ensure that you create a new thread in the HiJackThis Log Help Forum; not back here in this one.

When carrying out The 5 Steps, if you cannot complete any of them for whatever reason, just continue on with the next one until they are all completed.
However,it is extremely important to make mention of the fact that you could not complete any of the steps in your post to The HJT Help Forum; where an Analyst will assist you with other workarounds.

Once done, please be patient, as the Security Team Analysts are usually very busy; one of them will answer your request as soon as they can.

Good Luck with it.

Kind Regards,
