I just installed this burner to Compaq Presario SR1910NX

I understand Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR) means I can't use
Memorex disk on my burner, right ? I have to try another brand of disks.

Thanks.

Do I actually need to download drivers to make it work or just plugin power and data cable to the burner and that's it?
Because it didn't prompt to install any drivers.

Thanks.

There are no drivers needed when installing a burner. Make sure you have the latest Windows service pack and try another burning program to just burn a data disk to see if that works. Is the re-writable media or write-once?

I am using write once.
What about firmware drivers ?

What difference does that make, if any ?

Thanks.

Firmware updates could fix a problem if you were having a specific issue that was fixed in a firmware update. You need to be careful when doing any type of firmware update as it can damage the drive if done improperly, if it is interrupted or it's the wrong firmware.

I'd suggest trying a program like BurnAware and doing a simple data CD just to see what happens.

You know what Version: YGS4 on my burner stand for ?

Does firmware I have to download be that version in order to update the firmware or is it different for latest firmware ? Because I notice my burner
model has many different firmware versions .

Thanks.

My System

YGS4 is your Lite-On drive's model number.

If the drive is recognized by the burning software, you shouldn't need to update the firmware. Post a link to the firmware download site you're using so we can see the various options.

Try CDBurnerXP or JMPC's suggestion, BurnAware, instead of Nero.

Are your MP3 files DRM/copyright-protected (downloaded from iTunes or similar)?
