i installed tuneup utilities 2008 and forgot to uninstall its 2007 counterpart and tried to change my boot screen . i got a hal.dll corruption error upon restart so i tried to install a fresh xp home into a new file and then copy paste its hal.dll into the old C:\windows\system32 folder well after restart i dont have the partiton for my old xp os only the new and lost my ability to use dual boot xp and tuneup backup and can only boot the new fresh xp.

lost yet? ok well here is my question.

the old c:\windows is still fully intact on my c:\ drive and i have the new win xp home installed in a folder c:\DELETEME the c:\DELETEME is the only bootable option i have. i want to boot c:\windows my old now hopefully repaired xp home. so how do i get my computer setup to boot this xp home version from c:\WINDOWS AND NOT!!! C:\DELETEME???

I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND ! and really hope someone can help me i cannon afford to loose 1200 dollars in programs from a stupid error unless its my only last option
