I need help troubleshooting a blue screen crash problem on my HP a819n desktop. It is running Windows XP SP 3. I understand this type of problem is often associated with some recently installed hardware or software. I have not installed any hardware or software in months on this machine. I have run checks on the two internal hard drives which have tested good. I have disconnected both the scanner and the printer which are connected to this computer but the problem persists. I am attaching an image of the screen that is displayed and would be happy to furnish any further information about the computer that you think might be helpful.

Masterchiefxx17,
The app does not apply to Windows XP, only Vista and later. (Or am I missing something?)

Spunk.funk,
I disabled Avast and clicked on the link. It took me to a blank page.

Masterchiefxx17,
It appears I may have been misunderstood. In so far as the fault lies with me I apologize. The link I was having problems with was not the one to instructions on disabling my antivirus. The link I had problems with was the blue screen of death solution for XP. I knew how to disable the antivirus program. Even after I disabled it, I am still not able to access BSOD_XP_v1.3_jcgriff2_PROD.exe.

Go ahead and post in the BSOD forum and inform them that you are having trouble with the download.

If you clicked on the link, it will ask you to Run the program. Then it will open a black DOS window and start the scan of your system. there are instructions at the end, It create a folder in your My Documents called Sys_XP_Support. Right click this file and Send To... Compressed Folder (Zip file) and attach it in your in your new post at BSOD, App Crashes And Hangs and not here
After you have done everything here:https://www.techsupportforum.com/foru...ta-452654.html
If you have a problem with this link, this does the same exact thing, even though it says it is for Vista and Windows 7.
