Hello maskin26,

Make sure that you don't have any media in the drives (cd,floppy, etc)

Was anything recently added before the problem?

Boot into the BIOS and make sure that the HDD is recognized by the system and check the boot order.

Hi Makinu1der2
Recently one of my friend add a new card to my pc. It was all working fine untill last week. First I had a problem to start with than it worked again. But last time I tried to re start I never come round it wouldnt start. I tried everything and I am not very tecnical. Please let me know what to do next.
How do I understand that HDD is recognised by the system?
Regards

Normally when you start the system at the logo screen it will give you an option to enter Setup (usually by pressing del,F2,etc) .

Once inside the bios (depending on the version) it will list what drives are being detected. You may have a menu for Boot Option also see which device is set to boot first.
