SP3 wont install

when I open the SP3 FULL file, it starts to extract and then a box pops up that says "expected version of the product not found on your system" this seems to be a common problem. I searched the internet for answers and the only one I could find was to download the FULL SP3 which is what I did from the start.. Do I need to uninstall 1 and 2 first?

What am I missing?

I dont see : "Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit or Remote Desktop Connection" on this machine. and I dont see anything about the error im getting.

Download .Net Framework 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 Old and New Version of .Net Framework Download - OldApps.com and then download the stand alone SP3.
