G'Day dezzmo, Welcome to TSF!
I suggest that the best way for you to erase your Hard Drive would be to use a freeware
program called "Darik's Boot N' Nuke" available from here
(Click the coloured link.)
Boot N' Nuke will
completely erase the Drive back to RAW format, and give you the best chance of reinstalling the Windows® Operating System.
Give this a try and post back with the results.
I must add that Boot N' Nuke will take quite some time to do its job.
You will have to use the same Windows Version CD for your Product Key, or you will not be able to activate it.
If it works, Don't fix it!
Especially if Microsoft made it!
