After replacing XP Pro after major crash, with another XP Pro OS I am no longer able to put my Dell laptop to sleep. Can someone tell me how I can
find the instructions to bring up sleep and/or hibernation. Laptop won't turn
off unless I completely shut it down.

Is there a Hibernate tag on your Power Options?

Start -> Control Panel -> Power Options -> Hibernate tag

Check Enable Hibernation

That would be to enable Hibernate. To adjust the sleep and closing of the lid, go to Start/Control Panel/Power Options/Advanced or right click a blank space on the desktop choose Properties/Screen Saver/Power/Advanced.

Ok, last week I got a virus that disabled my internet and most programs. I was able to get to mbam in safe mode and change the extension to get it to run. That gave me control of the machine again, but there are lingering issues. The machine runs slower. I have the google re-direct virus. The...

When opening programs or searching the internet, every activity always causes my memory usage to peak to 100%. It wouldn't bother me if it didn't slow things down. My computer used to perform better.
