I'm trying to reformat my computer, and admitedly this is my first time.. so I apologize in advanced if I make any stupid or obvious mistakes.

To my knowledge, I have every CD that came with the computer (Dell Dimension 4700)--and I've been trying to reformat using the Reinstallation CD.

When I put the CD in, it comes up with the installation prompt, so I know the disk is fine/not damaged/etc..

But the problem is, it wont boot from it? I changed the BIOS to boot from disk, and it tells me that the CD in there isnt one I can boot from.

Am I missing something? :\

Re: Comp not booting from reinstall CD.

Nah, I figured it out. I have 2 CD-Rom drives.. but I figured the second one was just for burning stuff, not for reading. Put the CD in that one and it worked--of course, now I'm having wireless card issues (sigh!).

Regardless, thanks for the help, I appreciate it. I'll keep that killdisk thing in mind for the future. :)
