Removing duplicate files

You do not really want to remove duplicate files- many are required for the system to function!!

Only if you are absolutely confident that you can determine which are not required, should you undertake this. A utility will not know which to remove and which to leave! It will just give you a listing. At least that is what a good one would do. Sure don't want one that just goes barging ahead.

Thanks fro your reply.

I am hoping to find a utility that will allow you to choose which network drive or C: subdirectories to scan. Then we could make sure that what ever is found is data and not something that (when removed) will trash an app. or the system.
