I am running an IBM T60 laptop with an intel core duo and XP professional.
I recently installed Adobe CS3, the entire suite. Soon afterwards my computer started randomly locking up when I went online. Windows would stop recognizing the user interface for navigational purposes: all programs would ignore mouse clicks and the tab keys. However, special operating commands such as ctrl-alt-del, ctrl-shift-esc, and the windows key would still open their corresponding menus. I could not manipulate the start menu or the taskbar, but the log in menu that popped up when I pressed ctrl-alt-del would respond to the mouse.
I could log out and shut down, and nothing was running heavily in the background.
After experimenting, I've found that the lockups happened when I pressed the page forward / page back keys on the keyboard. Does anybody have any thoughts on what is happening?
As an aside I already found and killed the bonjour utility associated with adobe CS, but that did not solve the problem.
