Printer missing from printer folder

OS: Windows XP service pack2



i am using windows service pack 2 ,my hp printer is missing from printer folder.i try to add printer tool but it is not acting.so i have reinstall(upgrade) the windows.then printer is seen in the folder and able to print.but after restarting the system it is again missing.

Not exactly sure what you mean --- when you say you have to reinstall/upgrade Windows to fix a printer problem. That's not usually necessary.

Just go to the Hp website (hp.com) and download a driver for your printer from there, and install it. It should stay installed.

If the printer isn't directly connected to your computer, but you access it through a network -- it might not show up when it is turned off or disconnected.

If your computer shows many signs of instability or unusual behavior, make sure to scan for malware: your computer could be infected.
