I bought a used IBM at a sale. Everything was suppose to be ligit with the thing, but when i get it home and plug it up, it goes to the log in/ admin. screen. I click admin. and it asks me to activate windows. I tried calling ibm and they said what it boils down to is that i have to pay $40 to activate windows becouse someone had used the product key on too many computers. I can't even get it to go to the boot screen. when i unplug it and wait.....then plug it back in, it goes streight to the log in/ administrator screen. I know their is a way to get their. Please help. I need to know how to get to the boot screen and if their is a way around paying the $40. Thanks

The only way to get it activated is by paying the money. There is always risk associated with buying secondhand computers and you have found out why.
