Hi everyone,
A friend of mine gave me her old Compaq laptop some time ago and I have forgotten the password. I can't contact her anymore and wondered if there was someway of getting in to the system so that I can change the password. I don't think the cd drive is working so I can't reinstall the operating system and start from scratch.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Due to Forum Rules, We cannot assist with password circumvention or cracking.
Did you try leaving the password blank? Did you try restarting in Safe Mode and login as the Built in Administrator with no password?
Other then that, you can install Windows again without a CD/DVD. If you have an ISO image file of Windows installer and a USB Flash drive.
On another computer, you can create an ISO image of Windows from the Windows installer CD using IMGBurn and save the ISO image. then Download Rufus, Both available in my signature, and Burn the ISO image to a USB Flash drive with that.

Hmm i don't think there's an option or else try to contact the manufacturer for them to be able to provide details about it.
