I had dial-up. So I erased the account that I had. I went through the wizard steps of changing to Roadrunner. But everytime I click in to see mail. I get the log in form. I went to tools and clicked on accounts. Then properties in "general tab section" I have Mail account mail.rochester.rr.com. User Information my name, E-mail Address my address. The include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing is checked off. then in the "Servers Tab" My incoming mail server is a POP3 server. Then Incoming Mail (POP3) I have mail.rochester.rr.com and in the outgoing mail SMTP, I have SMTP.rochester.rr.com. Then in the "Incoming Mail Server" the Account name has mine and the password is the one they gave me. In the "Connection" section nothing is checked. Should that box be checked and something be in that line. Because it says "Always connect to this account using". It has Local Area Network,roadrunner,rochester.rr.com. In "Security" there only something in "Algorithm this what's in it "3DES". Then in "Advanced it has server port numbers, "outgoing mail SMTP" the number is 25. In the "Incoming mail POP3" the number is 110. Nothing is checked off. News connection I don't have any account put in there. Everytime that login pops up also and I cancel it says that either you are using the wrong password or server name. So what can I do. Because the POP3 trys to scan the mail and send it in. Mary

Hi Mary

You may want to double-check your Mail setup with Roadrunner. Phone support is included in their service. The POP3 incoming mail server here in Southern California is simply named pop-server.socal.rr.com --- if Rochester follows the same naming pattern, they should be pop-server.rochester.rr.com [Update - I just checked, and yes, Rochester's incoming POP3 server is named pop-server.rochester.rr.com --- and the SMTP out-going server is named smtp-server.rochester.rr.com]. Your previous settings aren't quite right just yet.

Why not redo your account from scratch. It's not a problem to see a login screen when you first start Outlook. Things are a bit more secure logging in each time. In your Internet settings, however, make sure that any dial-up connections leftover in the "Connections" tab are fully removed.
