Just curious as to why sometimes when you double click a program on the desktop it won't open. I know rebooting usually will fix this problem but wondering if there is another way around rebooting.
Well, I know for sure I am double clicking them. The hour glass pops up like it is opening the program, but then the program is not displayed. I believe the program is shown to be open under the task manager as well. Like I said, rebooting always fixes the problem I am just curious as to why this happens sometimes.
i don't know either why its doing that, but you could try yet another way of opening the program and perhaps avoid having to reboot.
open a command prompt and type:
start "" "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\nameofprogram.exe"
you only need to wrap the latter in quotes if there are spaces in the path, like in the example above.
