No Wireless Networks in Range: Media Disconnected

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with Windows XP that is about four years old.

It's been working fine, except that one day the wireless internet just stopped working. It was connecting fine and then all of a sudden the wireless network connection said: 'No wireless networks were found in range,' even though there are wireless networks in range. I have three other computers on this wireless network and there are no problems with them at all.

I checked to see if it was an IP problem by checking ipconfig in the command prompt and it says for both my wireless and broadcom: media disconnected

Everything is working fine in the device manager. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, but there was no result.

I got stumped and decided to wipe the hard drive and reinstall the OS. However, once I reinstalled all the drivers I still had the same problem.

Can you help me?

Thank you,

Lee
