I need to replace my mobo. The problem is I don't have a bootable Windows disk. If I use my recovery disks it will try to install the original mobo's drivers. Is there a way to make a bootable Windows XP mce disk from the files on my hard drive?

XP MCE is an OEM Version, there were no Retail versions. This means you can't legally transfer the license to a new PC.
Replacing the motherboard is considered a new PC unless:
  1. It's the same model as the original
  2. The original model is no longer available, and it's the model the manufacturer would supply as a warranty replacement
Unless one of the above applies, you'll have to purchase a new copy of XP.

If the Recovery disk is the kind that restores an image, it may not work in the case of the 2nd situation; it will depend on how different the new board is.
The PC manufacture may be able to supply you with a OS Re-install disk, rather than a Recovery disk in that situation.
