microsoft tun miniport adapter error

OS: win xp sp3, and win vista sp2, win 7 Home Premium



If you right click it in device manager it should give you an uninstall option, uninstall and on reboot it should try to pick it up again. You may need to reinstall or update drivers from manufacturer website.

"Device Manager" then "Network Controller or adapters" "Properties" "advanced" and under the "Speed & Duplex" Setting I changed it from Auto to 100Mbps @ Full Duplex.
This fixed my problem of being on line and then no connection even though it said it was working properly, and i got the Cannot fix DNS connection and Tun miniport adapter#2 error. it was under my Broadcom netlink (TM) Gigabit Eathernet and not my Dell wirless 1510 Wirless N -WLAN mini card. I have no idea why this happened but this fixed it.
