Hello peeps. I have a satellite L300D toshiba notebook which came with
vista loaded (excuse me while I use my sick bag). I've never known so
many problems with an operating system and so wiped off the hard drive
and installed XP pro sp3. This is where the nightmare began. XP just
wouldn't install, it kept giving me the blue wall of death before even
asking if I agree to the licence agreement. Being as daft as a brush I
went into the bios and changed the hard drive interface to be compatability mode and VOILA it installed XP. Phew that was a long story but now to the
It obviously uses a SATA Drive in this laptop and it just doesn't seem to be
offering data as quickly as Vista did. I can't remember the other bios option
which was on offer for the hard drive, ahci or something mental but this other
option worked in Vista. Am I losing any kind of performance using compatability mode? If so is there anything I can do about it because
Tosh don't seem to have anything on their download sites.
Many thanks for your time in reading my biography.
