hey all, i recently posted that i lost access to my keyboard and mouse during xp installation, well, heres the story about that, i had an idea to transfer all my hardware froman emachine to a amd motherboard which is where the hardware came from, a virus forced me to get a new pc, anyway, after about 2 month with the emachine, i decided to go back to the amd because it has a stronger processor and can hold more ram. Well asfter taking the hard drive out of the emachine, which had xp installed with lots of important data that i cant lose, i put the drive into the amd pc and i booted it up and it brought to the XP setup which was halfway through, when it got to the Regional and Language options wen i lost control of the mouse and keyboard which is needed. any way i can bipass the setup and get back to the data i had or can i get my mouse and keyboard working? please help, iv been stuck on this literally all day thanks!

Can you use a PS/2 Keyboard instead of a USB? Other options for canceling a Windows Repair install If you want to backup your data on the drive put the drive on another computer as a Slave Drive or with a USB Adapter and backup your files or use an Ubuntu Live CD and a flash drive to backup your data.
