I'm guessing that you already tried setting the BIOS to boot from your cd/dvd drive, correct?

not sure how to set the bios. I don't know much. I tried going into the set up menu, before windows boots, and changed the boot sequence. I put the dvd in and rebooted and it gave me an error message.

You could just try installing it from Windows. If you're on the computer and drive that you want to format, then pop it in the cd drive > go to My Computer > double click on the DVD drive > if it just opens a folder then scroll down and double click on Setup.exe

ooklah12345 is there more than 1 HD in the tower? you set boot from cd/dvd first and if there is a second HD in there set the priority correct according to what c drive is. also do you have the jumpers on the HD set correct ? make sure the ribbons inside the case are correct.

what mobo do you have ?
what HD do you have ?
are you familiar with dban ?

thats what i thought, your using a slave and it needs to be setup correctly. you need to change HD boot sequence to boot your C: drive first and slave second

ok, i'll try it, not sure how to do that, but i think i'll figure it out in setup. i assumed that i had the c: first. i usually have other people do this stuff for me, but now i'm trying it on my own.
