formatted my dell inspiron 1525. new os not installing getting error please help!!!
Got this Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. Formatted 'C' drive and now trying install new os on it.. well i have windows XP it previously had windows XP.

After booting with cd system asking press enter to instal. After enter than it shows error i.e

Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.

Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer -supplied diagnostic or setup program.

Setup cannot continue. To quit setup, press F3.

So if anyone can help I will be greatly appreciative of it. Thanks again and Have a blessed day

U have to check in bios there is option sata mode . For xp select IDE, for win 7. Try AHCI or vice versa save configuration and try again .

As Preetam said, Boot into Setup (Bios) look for HDD mode or SATA, and change the HDD mode from AHCI, to IDE or Compatibility Mode. Save and Exit.
