Hi Guys.

It's been a long while since I had to do this as on all new installations, I select NTFS straight away.

I have just finished repairing a system (It needed a thoroughly good spring clean, both hardware & software) & have got it up and running. System is currently being defragged.

However, the file system is FAT32 & I thought it would be better to convert to NTFS.

I believe that originally it was under the sytem tools menu(Not 100% sure where it was) & that it was simple to access.

On this system, I cannot find the conversion tool.

I would appreciate help on this as the owner will be coming later this afternoon to pick it up. Many thanks

OS: XP Home SP3 / Ubuntu / Win 7

My System


Right-click my computer => manage => disk management. The option will be available when you right-click the partition.

If the FAT32 partition was created using another OS than XP you may want to read this first :
