OK guys, im kinda new to this forum, so... hello.
My computer has a not so serious problem-When I try to open Local Disk C by double clicking it says:
"
Windows cannot find install.exe.
This program is needed for opening filed of type 'File'.

Type in the executable file to be used instead:

"

This problem isnt very serious, I just dont want my computer to remain "corrupt" if you know what I mean.

Help my and I will be grateful!

Hello and Welcome to TSF

Have you scanned your system for viruses lately? What antivirus program is installed on your system?

Norton Antivirus 2001 I think.
Does it matter? I thought 2001 and 2006 are the same thing because I can still LiveUpdate...
And yes I did check for viruses I found some and deleted them

Funny you stated its not a big problem but you are resorting to reformatting

Try this:
My guess would be it is in your system.ini, you may find a line that says

shell=explorer.exe install.exe

in which case remove the install.exe part.
Also the registry key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Winlogon there is a
key called "Shell", its value should also be explorer.exe and nothing else.
