you need to boot to the drivers and utility cd and choose custom test. Change the test loops (test interations) on the top right hand corner from 1 to 4 and double click the memory test. When you get an error code come up (which most likely you will) call Dell Technical Support and tell them the error code. It's going to be either the memory or a slot on the system board. The test will determine that.
Nope. Dell tech support was, as usual, not very helpful at all. Warranty's up, so it's not like I can ask them for a replacement hard drive. I may just end up replacing it myself, but I'm probably going to end up shipping it to my father and have him take a look at it. I'll reply again with what came of it.
